Our Story

My name is Jennifer Anderson. I am one of 14 grandchildren of our late grandparents Arthur and Christine Wallace. My grandmother, Christine Helen Wallace was 89 years old when she passed away in June 2019. For more than 30 years, Mrs. Wallace served her community as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Lexington, VA, and it is because of her selfless service and devotion that we wish to honor her legacy by constructing a temporary shelter dedicated to helping women in need.

In November 2020, I began to have a vision of establishing a temporary home for women who needed a place to escape from abuse and domestic violence. Not only did I envision a safe haven for women, I also wanted to provide women with resources that would help them in moving forward. This vision was inspired by the late Christine Helen Wallace, a woman who dedicated her life to serving others; thus, the birth of the Christine Wallace House.

The Christine Wallace House

Establishing the Christine Wallace House includes purchasing a house in Fayetteville, NC; completing necessary renovations to accommodate up to 10 women at any given time; obtaining a list of volunteers who can provide services and resources; executing the grand opening with all the required necessities; and establishing ongoing financial assistance.

The below points provide further details of what it would take to establish the Christine Wallace House:
